Fran, we are sending many prayers your way. Gerry’s funeral was so meaningful with the family member speaking who led Passover Seder’s for many years at his home for you and Gerry, and his brother who spoke on his behalf, and shared a tribute of lifelong memories. The Rabbi led and chanted a beautiful service filled with Hebrew prayers, and said some wonderful things about him. Driving from the chapel memorial service located conveniently on the grounds to the burial site was so well organized. The actual burial itself was respectful, done carefully and each of us who chose to appreciated placing sand/dirt from Israel on Gerry’s coffin. The tradition of having the immediate family of the bereaved walk through a pathway of two lines created by those who attended, was truly symbolic of the friends and family who surround those who are living with such grief. This ceremony was prepared with great dignity and thoughtfulness, as was the Shivah celebrated on behalf of Gerry.
